What's next in sustainable packaging? mPackting at LuxePack and CosmoPet 2025
Over the past month, mPackting has taken part in two major industry events, showcasing its latest sustainable packaging developments and its design philosophy.
The events we attended were LuxePack Monaco, the leading international show for luxury packaging and the CosmoPet International Congress, a unique meeting point for innovation in pet care and cosmetics.
Participating in these events offered valuable opportunities to present new projects, exchange ideas with fellow professionals and draw inspiration from the ever-evolving landscape of sustainable beauty and design.
Each encounter reaffirmed our commitment to creating packaging that performs, communicates and respects the planet.
What happened at LuxePack Monaco 2025
The 2025 edition of LuxePack Monaco marked a new era for the world’s leading show dedicated to creative and sustainable packaging.
Hosted once again at the Grimaldi Forum, the event unveiled a completely reimagined layout, expanding its exhibition areas and introducing new dedicated spaces such as The Portal and The Col’Lab, both designed to spotlight innovation and collaboration across the industry.
Since its creation in 1988, LuxePack has built its reputation on four fundamental pillars: quality, international reach, community and innovation.
Just like LuxePack, our own approach is founded on these same principles:
Quality, reflected in the precision and craftsmanship of every wooden component we create;
International reach, through collaborations with leading beauty and fragrance brands worldwide;
Innovation, driving the development of new materials such as mBlack™.
During LuxePack Monaco 2025, our team showcased a curated selection of wooden components (lids, caps and design frameworks) crafted from wood, cork and biopolymers, demonstrating how craftsmanship and sustainability can coexist in premium beauty packaging.
Beyond the exhibition stands, the new areas introduced within the Grimaldi Forum perfectly embodied the event’s spirit:
The Col’Lab, a space bringing together coalitions and associations to share insights and research shaping tomorrow’s packaging standards;
The Portal, dedicated to technologies and materials redefining sustainable design, featuring forward-thinking startups and experimental innovations;
Luxe Home, a rapidly expanding section focusing on home fragrance, candles and interior scents, showing how packaging creativity extends beyond beauty into lifestyle.
What happened at the CosmoPet International Congress 2025
Hosted in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the CosmoPet International Congress brought together professionals from the fast-growing pet care and cosmetics industries.
At our stand, we presented a selection of premium wooden closures and caps designed for bottles, jars and cosmetic cream solutions.
In collaboration with Minelli PETS, specialising in professional grooming tools, we demonstrated the strength of a fully integrated approach, where sustainable packaging and product design come together to provide a cohesive, high-quality experience.
Emerging trends from CosmoPet 2025
The insights shared at the CosmoPet International Congress 2025 highlighted the rapid evolution of the pet care industry, both in scale and in mindset.
According to NielsenIQ, the global pet population now exceeds one billion, with ownership continuing to rise across households worldwide.
Driven by this growth, demand for premium grooming products is surging, with this segment already representing $1.2 billion in annual sales in the US, up 9% compared to two years ago.
A key trend that emerged is the increasing convergence between beauty, health and pet care.
Categories once considered distinct, such as skincare, wellness and grooming, are now blending into a single lifestyle ecosystem, where products are valued for the rituals and emotional connections they create.
Consumers are also showing a strong preference for clean and natural formulations that are vegan, cruelty-free and made with responsibly sourced ingredients.
Another major finding concerns the rise of online retail: today, 36% of pet product sales occur online, with market leaders including Amazon and Zooplus.
This shift underscores the importance of digital visibility and design consistency, from packaging to brand storytelling in building consumer trust and loyalty.
Overall, the congress confirmed three defining dimensions driving the next generation of pet care brands: sustainability, sensorial experience and brand authenticity, all of which perfectly align with mPackting’s design philosophy.
Looking ahead: from fairs to the future of sustainable packaging
From Monaco to Château-Saint-Léger, the past few weeks have been a journey through two worlds that share the same ambition: to redefine beauty and care through innovation and responsibility.
As the industry continues to evolve, we’ll keep doing what we do best, turning natural materials into design statements that connect brands and consumers through authenticity and touch.
