mPackting at Beauty to Business 2025: inside Italy’s new cosmetics innovation hub

beauty to business

The 2025 edition of Beauty to Business, held at Fiera di Bergamo, closed with a clear message: the Italian beauty supply chain is entering a phase of solid, coordinated growth.

Spanning two days, the event attracted over 2,600 industry professionals and 84 companies from across Italy, as well as select international exhibitors, who brought to life the 6,000 m² Pavilion B.

The event featured a programme of talks, workshops and roundtables focusing on quality, research, sustainability and forward-looking production models.

Innovation and networking were the driving forces behind this inaugural unified edition, where the Beauty to Business Summit and Polo Innovation Day came together to create a single platform dedicated to the evolution of the Italian beauty industry.

For mPackting, Beauty to Business presented an opportunity to demonstrate how natural materials, circular design and precision engineering can redefine cosmetic packaging standards. The event also provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue with brands, formulators, designers and partners on how the supply chain can advance towards more sustainable, responsible and high-performance solutions.

Beauty to Business: setting a new standard for the Italian beauty supply chain

Beauty to Business has quickly established itself as one of the most important meeting points for the Italian beauty industry.

Hosted in Bergamo, a strategic hub within Italy’s “cosmetic valley”, the event brings together the entire supply chain.

Organised by Promoberg and the Polo della Cosmesi, the summit was designed with a clear purpose: to strengthen an integrated ecosystem capable of showcasing Italian excellence and fostering collaboration between companies, buyers, professionals and innovators.

This year's event attracted 84 companies from eight Italian regions, as well as exhibitors from France and Romania, reflecting the sector's growing international reach.

The event also hosted the Innovation Beauty Awards, which highlight pioneering approaches in R&D and sustainable design, as well as the Cosmo Talent Hub, a dedicated platform that connects companies with emerging professionals who have specialised skills.

A fast-growing industry driving the evolution of packaging

According to the latest outlook released by Cosmetica Italia and Assolombarda, the Italian beauty industry is entering 2025 with solid momentum.

The sector is expected to close the year with a turnover of €17.4 billion (an increase of 5.1% compared to 2024), while exports are projected to reach €8.5 billion, an increase of 7%, representing almost 50% of total sales. Despite an increasingly complex global scenario, beauty remains one of Italy’s most competitive and resilient industries.

Lombardy continues to serve as the country’s leading cosmetic hub. In 2024, the region generated over €11 billion in revenue (an increase of 9.1% compared to 2023) and forecasts indicate that this figure will grow by a further 6.3% in 2025, surpassing €11.7 billion. These figures not only underscore the strength of the regional ecosystem, but also its strategic role within the broader European beauty landscape.

As the sector grows, so does the demand for innovation at every stage of the supply chain, including packaging

The strategic role of packaging in a transforming industry

As production volumes increase and brands accelerate their global expansion, the importance of packaging as a competitive factor is growing.

Packaging now embodies a product’s identity, sustainability profile and technical performance. For Italian manufacturers, who have long been recognised for their craftsmanship and design culture, this shift represents both a challenge and an opportunity.

Brands are increasingly seeking materials with a lower environmental impact, systems that enable precision and durability and partners who can combine creativity with industrial reliability.

Consequently, packaging suppliers have become indispensable contributors to the beauty industry's innovation pipeline: they ensure compliance with evolving regulations, facilitate differentiation through materials and finishes and assist brands in translating their values into tangible, high-quality products.

What mPackting showcased: natural materials, precision and modularity

At Beauty to Business, mPackting presented a selection of its most representative packaging solutions.

The stand highlighted how aesthetic purity, technical accuracy and sustainable sourcing can converge to create packaging systems tailored for contemporary beauty brands.

Natural materials for modern beauty

Italian and international companies continue to look for materials that convey authenticity, tactility and a strong narrative value. mPackting showcased its core natural materials, all selected for their performance, traceability and distinctive visual identity:

  • Wood, FSC®-certified and available in a wide range of essences;

  • Cork, appreciated for its elasticity, lightness and sensory warmth;

  • mBlack™, a bio-based composite developed within the Minelli Group;

  • Engineered biopolymers designed for high-end cosmetic applications.

Precision frameworks and modular construction

A key focus of the stand was mPackting’s portfolio of technical frameworks, engineered to guarantee consistency, mechanical stability and long-lasting performance. Each system is developed to offer brands full creative freedom while maintaining precise functional standards.

Among the frameworks presented:

  • WoodRing™, a mono-material threaded structure crafted entirely from wood, ensuring smooth rotation and perfect alignment;

  • CorkFit™, a natural compression mechanism leveraging cork’s elasticity for a soft and secure closure;

  • Helix™, a bio-based twist system engineered for controlled, repeatable motion.
