Our Group releases its 3rd Sustainability Report: what it means for mPackting
Minelli Group has published the third edition of the Sustainability Report (covering 2025), reaffirming a multi-year journey of structured commitment to ESG principles. For mPackting, as the Group’s dedicated business unit for sustainable cosmetic packaging, this milestone is not an isolated update, it is the foundation of our identity: we actively translate our Group’s environmental responsibility into tangible, high-end packaging solutions for the beauty industry.
mPackting: part of a broader industrial journey
As a dedicated business unit of Minelli Group, mPackting represents the Group’s latest application of circular economy principles to the beauty sector. mPackting was created to channel decades of industrial woodworking expertise into solving one of the beauty industry’s greatest challenges: sustainable packaging.
Our mission is deeply tied to the Group’s integrated model, bridging premium material craftsmanship with responsible innovation. We design packaging solutions using 100% responsibly sourced, certified timber (FSC® / PEFC™) and combine wood with materials like glass to build complete, sophisticated packaging systems. At the same time, we fully embrace circularity by turning industrial wood offcuts from traditional operations into high-value resources. The most advanced expression of this cycle is mBlack™—our proprietary biochar-based material that captures carbon and offers a biodegradable alternative to traditional plastic without releasing microplastics.
Understanding the Minelli Group Sustainability Report means understanding the very backbone of mPackting: a fully integrated, responsible supply chain that powers every cap, jar, and packaging system we design.
A long-term commitment measured over time: the 3rd report in numbers
Reaching the third edition of the Minelli Group Sustainability Report marks a mature, structured approach to ESG transparency. Prepared in compliance with international GRI standards and ESRS guidelines, this annual reporting cycle ensures data is fully comparable year-over-year—proving that responsible growth is an ongoing industrial methodology rather than a one-time statement.
The 2025 performance data provides clear evidence of this continuous improvement across key environmental metrics:
100% of the electricity used across facilities now comes from renewable sources, up from 70% in 2023.
Total electricity consumption of 9,219,611 kWh was managed under continuous energy efficiency optimization.
Annual water usage decreased to 5,799 m³, achieving a reduction of 533 m³ compared to 2023.
Direct investments in sustainability reached €2,900,000, representing an increase of €200,000 over 2023.
70% of suppliers were assessed for environmental certifications (+20% vs 2023) and 40% were evaluated on geographic proximity (+10% vs 2023).
Circular Economy and Wood: The Heart of the Minelli Model
The foundation of our approach begins in responsibly managed forests certified by FSC® and PEFC™, ensuring that raw material sourcing respects natural regeneration and preserves forest ecosystems. Within manufacturing facilities, production is optimized at every stage to minimize waste: offcuts from larger items are first reused to produce smaller wooden components. The remaining wood waste is 100% recovered and converted into fuel for state-of-the-art biomass boilers, meeting the heating requirements of our plants and thermal drying chambers.
This closed-loop system forms the broader foundation upon which mPackting’s entire sustainability model is built. Beyond material circularity, our approach relies on four fundamental pillars: sourcing 100% certified timber, relying on a short, local supply chain to reduce transport emissions, applying data-driven eco-design with low-impact water-based finishes, and pioneering advanced material upcycling.
It is within this upcycling process that wood waste is converted into biochar to create mBlack™, our biodegradable, microplastic-free material engineered for cosmetic applications like refillable jars, lipsticks, and compacts. mPackting’s packaging solutions combine responsible forestry, local industrial efficiency, and material innovation into a comprehensive commitment to the environment.
Looking Ahead
Sustainable transformation is a continuous journey, and we remain dedicated to innovating every step of the way.
